Nicolae Andrei Popescu

Nicolae has founded WeGotPlayers.com™ in 2008 with a simple mission; to empower players from around the world to get recruited & scouted based on their needs by college coaches, professional coaches, top professional agents and scouts from around the world. As a former full-ride scholarship soccer player at Quinnipiac University, Nicolae understands the recruiting & scouting process. As the President of WeGotPlayers.com™ Nicolae oversees, manages and directs all the domestic and international relations of the company. Over the past decade, Nicolae has built strong connections and partner up with important companies as Setanta Sports, The Soccer Magazine, IMG Academies and S1 Sport. His European background, knowledge of the game and his trilingual skills of English, Spanish and Romanian have made him an attractive international partner to the soccer world.

 

Nicolae has played soccer all his life. He first started playing in a U-8 league where he later joined Gheorghe Popescu’s Soccer Academy in Craiova, Romania. At the age of 16 he moved to Washington D.C where after playing for one season he won the High School Championship with Woodrow Wilson Senior High School.  Shortly after that he joined IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He traveled with the team twice to Brazil where after two years went to Ulster College in Stone Ridge, New York. After playing for two years he transferred on a full athletic scholarship to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

 

Nicolae received his Associates Degree in Science from Ulster College and obtained his B.A. from Quinnipiac University in Political Science. During his soccer career Nicolae has made connections with coaches and players not only at the national level but also at the international stage.

Media Production Manager

Paul Fleck

Paul has worked closely with the WeGotPlayers.com™ founders since before its inception, providing media strategies and design consultations. Following a four-year career at Quinnipiac University, including a captaincy in his senior year, Paul served as an assistant coach with the Bobcats for two seasons. In 2009, he accepted a position with the Southern Connecticut State women’s program as an assistant coach, where he currently coaches part-time. Paul also does considerable freelance work with the worldwide leader in sports, ESPN. Through these many different avenues, Paul has developed an extensive network of contacts throughout the sporting industry.

 

Paul graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production in 2007 and a Master of Science in Interactive Communications from the same institution in 2008.

Marketing Coordinator

Christian Nielsen

Christian is the marketing coordinator for WeGotPlayers.com™ and is in charge of integrated marketing, communicating the company's value through various media resources.  He graduated from Quinnipiac University with a BS in Advertising, where he helped Nicolae Andrei Popescu develop his dream of creating a stable and successful soccer recruiting and scouting network thru WeGotPlayers.com™.  His experience includes integrated marketing for MTV and public relations for Quinnipiac University and the Albert Schweitzer Institute, an NGO associated with Quinnipiac University that conducts international programs.     

 

Christian has both playing and managerial experience at the Division I level at Quinnipiac University.  As administrative manager for the Men's Soccer Team, he was responsible for public relations and game day operations.  He still plays at a high level and is a high school and club coach in upstate New York.

 

Christian is also a co-founder of The changeIT project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing social, health, and educational initiatives in impoverished and developing nations.

Scout

Jadir Barbosa

 

Over the past decade, Jadir has build very close connections with numerous college coaches throughout the United States and Brazil. He has joined our team as a scout and he has helped multiple players’ athletes to go to prestigious college programs on athletic scholarships. He is working closely with the WeGotPlayers.com™ team to ensure the placement of the international student players to the right programs.

 

Jadir is a native of Brazil and has played soccer all his life. He grew up in Londrina, Brazil where after playing for several teams like Cianorte Futebol, Iate Club of Londrina , Londrina Futebol Club, P.S.T.C Futebol Club, Telemaco Borba Futsal Club and Sao Paulo Futebol Club he has moved to the United States. His soccer abilities have earned him a full athletic scholarship to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. After finishing playing for Quinnipiac University he joined the professional indoor team of Massachusetts Twisters AISL where he won the Championship for the 2006/2007 season.

 

Jadir has also coached numerous teams thought Connecticut such as, Ajax Premier Club, Coerver Coaching, Everson Soccer Academy, Rnunes Soccer Academy and the Division I Men’s Soccer Sacred Heart University. Jadir is also a Member of the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America), USSF licensed, Member of the United States Futsal Federation and also a Member of the Brazilian Futsal Federation.

 

Jadir graduated in 2007 from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and he obtained his M.B.A in Sports Management from the University of New Haven in 2010. Jadir is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Scout

Catalin Predoi

Catalin is our main scout in Munchen, Germany. He oversees and promotes new talented players to teams across Europe. Catalin started playing soccer at the age of nine at Gheorghe Popescu Soccer Academy in Craiova, Romania.  He was also a member of the Romania U 17 national team where he accumulated 12 caps. While he was playing for the Gheorghe Popescu soccer Academy he helped to the promotion of one of the Academy’s teams from the forth division to third division.

 

Catalin graduated from University of Physical Education in Craiova, Romania. He also completed his Masters in Sport Management from the same institution. His soccer knowledge and his quadruple language skills of German, English, Romanian and Italian have made Catalin an ideal scout for our team.

College Recruiter Adviser 

George Vizvary

George Vizvary has joined our team as a college recruiter adviser. He began his career at Ulster in 1963 and since then he has built a tremendous amount of connections with top colleges within the United States. His maestro soccer mind has earned him a Hall of Fame coach and two-times Freeman Sportsperson of the Year.  

 

Vizvary’s understanding and passion of the game is second to none. His 534-159-28 career record with two National Junior College Athletic Association championships over 36 seasons speaks for itself. Vizvary’s teams also captured 17 Region XV titles and 24 Mid-Hudson Conference championships.

 

During his coaching career Vizvary has seen 45 of his players go on to play professionally and 52 achieve All-American status from the National Junior College Athletic Association and National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In 2007 he was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame. George is originally from Hungary and he has coached the longest in college history.

Financial Consultant

Aldin Beslagic

Aldin Beslagic is the Financial Consultant for WeGotPlayers.com™.  His sharp thinking, knowledge, passion for soccer and desire to always achieve more, has made Aldin the ideal candidate for helping our company’s financial growth.

 

He graduated from Quinnipiac University with a BS in Finance and International Business. In the following years he has obtained a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). Currently he is the President and Founder of multiple companies such as: BestLogicStaffing.com, AssembleMyResume.com, BeslagicSolutions.com and SoccerRUs, LLC.

 

Aldin has he played soccer all his life. After playing for seven years in Germany he ended up playing for a Division I college soccer here in the United States. Aldin has played soccer with Nicolae at Quinnipiac University for two years. Aldin is also fluent in English, German, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.

Legal Adviser

Gabriela Coman

Gabriela Coman joined WeGotPlayers.com™ in 2010 and she oversees all the legal and trademark aspects of the company. Gabriela also works for Dickstein Shapiro as an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice since September 1999.

 

Gabriela practices primarily in the intellectual property area, concentrating in the fields of medical, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemical, semiconductors, and design patents. She has prepared, filed, and prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent applications, and has prepared intellectual property valuation and opinion letters regarding patentability, validity, and infringement issues.

 

Gabriela began her legal career as a legal intern for the Honorable Raymond J. Dearie, Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, from June 1997 to August 1997. She was a summer associate with the Firm in 1998. From September 1998 to August 1999, she was a law clerk with the Firm’s New York office. Before entering law school, she attended two years of medical school.

 

Gabriela is admitted to practice in New York (2000) and the District of Columbia (2001), and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Gabriela is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

 

Gabriela attended Medical School of Craiova for two years in Romania. She received her B.A., summa cum laude , in biology from Baruch College of the City University of New York (1996). At Baruch College, she received the Excellence Award in Natural Sciences (1996) and the Baruch College Alumni Association Award in Liberal Arts and Sciences (1996). She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School (1999), where she was Notes and Comments Editor for the Brooklyn Law Review.
