Going to college is an expensive cost student-athletes and their families have to cover. In some cases parents start planning early to save for their children’s college education. Other families will relay on athletic or academic scholarships which always hard to get. And there are other families and student-athletes who will just go thru the process as it happens. Knowing how to lower the cost of college could you save a lot of money since the college cost is not cheap by any means. If you do a little research, some planning in advance and have a strategy to follow, it will be a great start. This could help you identifying where your realistic chances of obtaining a scholarship are. There are merit scholarships, athletic scholarships, financial aid packages, academic scholarships, community scholarships and many other types. So there are scholarships but are people willing to work hard for them? That’s all up to you.

There is a great app I come across a while back while watching Shark Tank. It’s called Scholly and it helps students and their families to easily find scholarships they qualify for thru an adaptive engine. This is a great source to start when looking for scholarships. You may be impressed of what you can find. Try it.

The cost of college can be high and any savings are always welcome. The average cost to attend college can be from $25,000 to $50,000 per year or even more. Just imagine a family with two children in college paying the full cost with no scholarships at all. It adds up quick. Private colleges can be even more expensive. If you go to a school within your state you may save some money. You could qualify for financial aid based on your family’s income and the number of children attending school.
